The first book on my TBR, and the last one I added yesterday is A HEAD FULL OF GHOSTS by PAUL TREMBLAY.

After seeing The Girl on The Train on the bestseller-list at work for a while, I decided to give it a chance. A lot of people was comparing it to “Gone Girl”, which is a book I enjoyed, so I had high expectations for it.

The Girl on the Train is written by Paula Hawkins and was published January the 1st 2015. It holds the genres thriller, suspense, crime and mystery.

Rachel takes the same train every morning. The train passes a wonderful neighborhood where a beautiful couple lives together. Rachel daydream about them every day, imagining how perfect they are together, giving them nicknames and even starting to feel that she knows them.

Then one day, she sees something that changes everything, and suddenly she’s involved in a big murder case. What did really happen? What is true, and what is not?

There is one major thing that makes this book special; The characters. Especially Rachel; She is a complex character that has been through a lot, and we meet her at a point in her life where everything has gone wrong. To compensate for this, alcohol is the answer. Having an alcoholic as a main character in a crime novel makes everything more interesting. In this book, you’ll never be quite sure who to trust and what to believe in.

I enjoyed it a lot throughout the whole story. It didn’t take long for me to finish it, and I found it exciting and easy to dig into.

I get why people are comparing it to “Gone Girl”, but at the same time there’s a lot of difference between the two of them. Personally, I like “Gone Girl” best, but only because I find “the girl on the train” as a kind of soft version. The element of surprise and the characters is a little bit better in “Gone Girl”, but they’re absolutely not bad in this one either. This being said, I think “The Girl on The Train” has more “believable” characters that are easier to relate to, and all over it’s a much lighter read.

With this book, it was the title that caught my attention. “We were liars” sounded exciting and thrilling. Also, it was hard to make an opinion about what kind of book this was, so that made me even more curious.

“We were liars” is written by E. Lockhart and was published may the 14th in 2014. It holds several genres, including young adult, suspense, mystery, fiction and romance.

At goodreads this is the description you get:

A beautiful and distinguished family.

and that’s probably the best description to give, because it’s almost impossible to say something about this book without ruining the experience of reading it. This is one of the books you just have to read for yourself and just experience the feelings, the questions raising throughout the story progressing and so on.

This book still gets to me on so many levels, and I’m still not sure whether I like it or not. But it’s a book that I’ll remember for a long time, and a book I want to read again, so I absolutely recommend reading it. The story is special and told in a very exciting way, although I thought it was boring at first.

There are two things I disliked about the book. The first thing is the way the writing went crazy at times, without it being any reasons for it to do so. I don’t know if it’s the authors way of trying to be poetic, but for me it was just annoying. Especially because I seriously couldn’t find a reason for it to be written that way.

Just so you’ll understand what I’m talking about, I’ll write the next section for you in that way.

of the people reviewing the book calls it
“a shitload of #whitegirlproblems”
and I actually get that.
But in another way, everyone is allowed to have
problems, and they feel just as real to rich people.
So i understand to her, but I dislike her, and that feels really weird…

And as you just read, that’s the way the writing in the book sometimes is. Not all the time, but sometimes, and often on parts of the book that didn’t make sense at all to write like that. I just don’t get it.

But the story is good, and as I said, this is a book that really got to me and that I will be thinking about for a while. It’s worth reading.

The girl with the dragon tattoo was written by the Swedish author, journalist and editor Stieg Larsson. The book was first published in Sweden in 2005, and the english version came in 2008. It holds the genres suspense and thriller. The original title is “män som hatar kvinnor”, wich directly translates to “men who hate women”. The book has also been adapted to movies, one Swedish and later an american version. The Swedish one came out in 2009 and the american one in 2011. Stieg Larsson never got to experience his books being famous, as he died in 2004, a year before his first book came out. 

I've probably said this before, but I just recently discovered that I actually like the genre suspense. Somehow I always thought I didn't like it. I'm starting to realize that this definitely is a genre for me. And one of the reasons to that is this book

When I started reading, it did not take long until I was sold. It starts right off with a mystery that makes you really curious, and I just knew that this was going to be really exciting. Then the story jumps to the main character wich is a whole different story. You know that the two stories will have something to do with each other and the sudden question you ask is how in the world they will be relevant to each other.

Mikael Blomkvist, a respected journalist and editor of his own magazine has done a terrible mistake that could cause him his whole career. Luckily, someone has the key to Blomkvist’s way out of it all, but it comes with a prize: Blomkvist has to spend a year trying to solve a mysterious disappearance that has remained unsolved for almost 40 years. Blomkvist accepts, unaware of everything he will encounter the following year. When his path crosses Lisbeth Salander’s, a young genius, things start to get really interesting.

There is much I like about this book. I love how Larsson gives you pieces of the puzzle, one piece after another. Sometimes the piece gives you one answer, but raises twenty more questions and sometimes you feel you're close to finding out what's really happening, but it turns out you're not. And sometimes you are close, but have no idea. I'm also completely in love with the two main characters. Mikael Blomkvist is the perfect main character. he's witty, funny, smart but still makes mistakes like a normal human. And Lisbeth Salander is probably the most interesting person I've read about in a book in a long time. All over, I'm impressed with how Larsson manages to make the story continue being exciting throughout the whole book. I just couldn't put it down. And I'm very, very pleased with the ending and I can't wait to start on the second book.
